십성은 일간을 기준으로 다른 글자와의 관계에 붙인 열 개의 이름입니다. 십신(十神)이라고도 부릅니다.

오행만으로는 관계를 말할 수 없습니다. 같은 목이라도 내 편인지, 나를 미는지, 내가 밀어야 하는지가 다르고 십성이 그 차이를 이름으로 구분합니다. 성격·직업·자원·관계에 대한 판단이 거의 전부 여기서 나옵니다.
